Outlook Express Setup




This page is designed to assist you in the setup of your Australia Online e-mail address on Outlook Express. If you know your way around Outlook Express, these are the settings you will need. The incoming mail server is: pop.ozonline.com.au , and the outgoing mail server is: smtp.ozonline.com.au. You need to know what your <username> and <password> are, to ensure that you can check your mail, these are usually the same as what you use to connect to the Internet.
  • The first thing we have to do is start up Outlook Express. You need to look for an icon much like the one shown below. Otherwise go to Start, Programs, and look for "Outlook Express". This is not the same as Microsoft Outlook.
  • Once Outlook Express is started Click on the "Tools" menu, then on "Accounts".
  • You will see a screen much like the one you see below.
  • Click on the "mail" tab.
  • Click on "Add", then "Mail". (see below)
  • Below, follow through the prompts as shown. Display name is simply the name of the person who owns the e-mail address being setup.
  • Click on next.
  • Place your e-mail address as shown in the screen below. Your e-mail address is the <username> you chose, when setting up your account with Australia Online.
  • Click on Next.
  • The E-mail servers screen needs to be filled in as seen below.
  • Click on next.
  • Type the account name you received as you see below. Your account name is the name you were given when signing up with Australia Online.
  • Type in the password, this corresponds with your username as given in the sign-up procedure.
  • Click on next.
  • Click on finish.
  • You have now completed setting up you Australia Online e-mail account.
  • Click on close and then you are ready to start e-mailing!
