Internet Explorer 5 Proxy Setup




This page is designed to assist you in configuring your Internet Explorer 5 browser so that it will browse the Internet when connected to Australia Online. For those that know what they are doing, the proxy servers address is: proxy.ozonline.com.au and the port is 8080. For those that are unsure about how to set up Internet Explorer 5, follow on.
  • First, we need to go to the properties of your Internet Explorer browser, you can do this two ways.
  • By RIGHT clicking on the Internet Explorer icon (seen below) and then clicking on Properties.
  • Or by opening Internet Explorer browser and then clicking on Tools and then Internet Options.
  • You will then see a screen much like the one below.
  • Next click on the Connections tab. Below is an example of the connections section.
  • Please ensure that your default dial up connection is your Australia On Line dial up connection. (See below)
  • Click on your Australia On Line dial up connection
  • Click on the Settings button.
  • Please ensure that Access the Internet using a proxy server is ticked.
  • Click on the Advanced... button.
  • Type (see below) in the HTTP address area the address of our proxy server, proxy.ozonline.com.au and then in the section labeled port type 8080.
  • Further down the screen you will see a Use the same proxy server for all protocols, please ensure this box is ticked.
  • After your proxy settings are set as above, please press OK, and then on OK again and then OK again, to save and close the Properties window..
  • Your proxies are now set for Internet Explorer 5.
